Starting the $10K MRR Challenge

I’m not big on New Year's resolutions, but I decided to kick 2024 off with a new challenge: earning $10K monthly recurring revenue (MRR) on a side project.

$10K MRR is somewhat of a holy grail for indie hackers, and many founders spend the entirety of their startup journey trying to reach this figure.

Why do I think I can reach it within a year? Well, I'm actually not sure if I can. Especially given the fact that I already co-run a startup. But that's the whole point of a challenge, isn't it?

The $10K MRR Challenge

I’m not the first to set out on a challenge like this, and I’ve taken great inspiration from a few bootstrappers who I admire deeply.

Defining the Challenge

So, what's the deal with this challenge? It's pretty straightforward, actually. I'm on a mission to create a side project that consistently brings in $10,000 or more each month. But it's not just about the money; it's about pushing my limits, being resourceful, and finding creative solutions in today's digital landscape.

Why I'm Doing This

You might be wondering why I'm putting myself through this challenge. Well, I believe in the power of discomfort and pushing boundaries. Challenges like these can transform you, make you a better entrepreneur, and teach you to navigate the ups and downs of business life.

This challenge isn't just about money; it's about personal growth, financial independence, and pursuing something meaningful.

My Promise

Transparency is my game plan. I'm going to keep it real. I'll share the ups and downs, the wins, and the stumbles. By doing this, I hope to offer you a genuine look into the life of a solo entrepreneur. It's not all glam and glory, but it's a journey worth taking.

In upcoming blog posts, I'll get into the nitty-gritty. I'll talk about the problem I want to tackle, the strategies I plan to use, and the tools I'll be leveraging. And if you're an entrepreneur, dreamer, or someone who loves a good challenge, I hope my journey inspires you or at least makes you want to join for the ride.
